We have 26 members in 2013, so please take your time and scroll through our page and feel free to search individual websites. We are a support organization for doulas and desire to have doulas available in northeastern Oklahoma for any pregnant woman who hopes to have one for her birth. Our goal is to educate the public, consumers and medical staff about the work of doulas.
Expectant parents are encouraged to contact and interview multiple doulas to be sure just the right match is made. In addition to experience and fees, finding a doula whose philosophy, practice, and personality style meet your needs and wishes is very important. Doulas who are in the process of obtaining certification may have reduced fees available, you will need to discuss fees with each individual doula.
How to hire a Doula guidelines from DONA International has detailed questions and information that will help you in locating a doula for your birth.
Average prices for doula services in the area range from $350-$500 range. Some doulas may charge a flat rate and add additional fees per hour for longer labors or false alarms. Each doula is an independent practitioner, so fees should be negotiated on an individual basis. Many are willing to negotiate and help in special circumstances.
